Markets - systems of transactional exchange - and consumerism are relatively VERY new inventions, and we don't think think they are going too great!

Because it's super hard to track things that aren't sold, we tend to underestimate the extent to which people can and do feed each other "off the market". But they do! Many folks in Vermont and elsewhere stay fed without having to buy hardly any food, living a life supported by their friends and neighbors who, on the foundation of their relationship with the land, weave a fabric tight and strong enough to nourish each other.

For us, raising and sharing food has done much more than keep us alive - it is on the daily transforming how we understand ourselves, the land and beings that make home here, and how we might labor on behalf of them and a less extractive future.

In 2020, a group of folks circled up around the work of Adam Wilson at Brush Brook Community Farm and fell in love with growing, gleaning, storing, processing and giving away food. Adam is now at Sand River Community Farm, but those still in Huntington are a part of this food web sometimes branded as "Soul Feast".
